THE FESTIVAL
Poros Film Festival is a celebration of the works of new and up-and-coming Greek filmmakers, a demonstration of the interconnectedness of art forms in cinema, and a beacon of the importance of community in the filmmaking industry.
Selected films will be screened in the company of peers and industry professionals from a range of filmmaking departments, and will be accompanied by a series of panel discussions and masterclasses dedicated to showcasing the craftsmanship, teamwork, and passion behind films, and to discussing the future of filmmaking in Greece.
The festival’s program will also offer special opening and closing gatherings, exclusive to the filmmaking community - ensuring the best opportunities for networking with like minded peers and connecting with future collaborators.

THE INDUSTRY
Poros Film Festival is a celebration of the interconnectedness of art in cinema, and the passionate creatives behind the films we love.
​
We're working hard to bring you a series of masterclasses, panel discussions, and workshops with industry creatives spanning all cinema departments.
​
They'll share their experiences, give practical advice and demonstrations of technique, offer insights into the dynamics of large-scale filmmaking, and discuss what the future of cinema in Greece can look like for our filmmakers.

THE FILMMAKERS
The Open Call for film submissions begins July 1st via FilmFreeway.
​
Submit your film, or share our submission page with a new or up-and-coming filmmaker whose boldness, creativity, passion for cinema, and filmmaking approach you admire.
​
Entries close July 31, 2025.
Eligibility
1. Films must be of Greek production or co-production, with a Greek or Cypriot director, and must include at least 70% Greek language dialogue.
2. Submissions open to fiction films, documentary films, animated films, and experimental films.
3. Films should not exceed 30 mins in length.
4. Films should have a completion date no earlier than January 2023.
5. No premiere status required. ​
